Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band - When I See Mommy I Feel Like a Mummy

A Dilemma

My aunt called and asked if I’d babysit for her two adopted children in late October. (The oldest is 13, youngest is 9?) I’m a college student with mostly daytime classes. It’d be five days (Thurs night through Monday night) for $100 plus food and a house to sleep in.

Aside from the commute (25min from campus to their house) I’d only need to go to campus Thursday and Monday when they are at school.

I’m still considering this, the kids are very capable children and I’m told can handle themselves (by their guardian/my aunt) and I’d just have to feed them in the evening and take care of the dog.

My aunt sounded a bit desperate to get a sitter while she goes out of town for a getaway, and I don’t know these cousins well but have been friendly when I’ve been around before. I’ve never babysat before but I think it’d be an interesting learning experience.

Dunno about that $100 though…..

This is the original advertisement poster for the Captain Beefheart And The Magic Band performance on Sunday, October 15, 1972 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at Syria Mosque.  Dr. John The Night Tripper was the opening act.  I went to the show with two friends, and had our minds blown with the Captain and the original band members blasting out the Clear Spot album.  I was twenty years old, and as you will notice, the tickets were $4 and $5.  Those were the days!
